spot in the forest Lyrics by elliotly

pressed rose

2020

[Verse]
This is my spot in the forest
It's so quiet I can hear the leaves hum
When I'm tired of the chorus
To my spot in the forest I come
I sometimes faint from the heat
So in this spot I like to remain
Light falls carefully, it's neat
I don't know how to explain but
[Chorus]
It's all a lot at once and I like to get away
And watch the clouds change as night turns into day
I've never seen anything like these stars back home
And the little bright creatures that glow in sea foam
And this place is always best in the middle of the night
Or the very early morning when the sun's not bright
And I come here almost every noon
To sit and watch and wait for the moon
[Verse]
This is my spot to watch the beach
Except for a lizard nest, I'm alone
Though my friends are still within reach
The lizards are shy and hide under stones
But if you give 'em time you'll earn their trust
And they'll crawl into your hand like you're a tree
They're sparkled silver like stardust
I love that they chose to trust me
[Chorus]
'Cause it's all a lot at once and I like to get away
And watch the clouds change as night turns into day
I've never seen anything like these stars back home
And the little bright creatures that glow in sea foam
And this place is always best in the middle of the night
Or the very early morning when the sun's not bright
And I come here almost every noon
To sit and watch and wait for the moon
[Bridge]
'Cause sometimes the voices are too much to stand
Whenever they fight and cry and throw sand
And sometimes it like I'm back home or at school
And there's blood in my ears and there's rushes and pools
Sometimes the voices are too much to stand
Whenever they fight and cry and throw sand
And sometimes it like I'm back home or at school
And there's blood in my ears and there's rushes and pools
I need just one moment to get away from this attack
'Cause the streets are loud with all the crowds and everything goes black
But on this island there's always a spot
Where I escape the noise so it's something home was not
