The Past Is Closing In Lyrics by Erlend Ropstad

Roy, It Ain’t Over Yet

2010

[Verse]
As I picked up the phone
I heard a voice that I like the best, damn
Something on my mind, boy
Something on my mind
How about we take all of our money
And we get outta here?
That is, if you're still my man
Are you still my man?
[Verse]
She said or else she would leave and build a future for herself
’Cause this place here got the best of her
And this place got the best of her
It's not like I had my own goal back then
Sure'd like to begin something
I would sure like to begin something
[Chorus]
Don’t care what comes around the bend
'Cause you and me, babe, we always bounce back again
And now the past is closing in on us
The past is closing in on us
The past is closing in on us
The past is closing in on us
[Verse]
I'n still driving 'cause she could still take a turn
Some things never change
Some things never change
Now she's sleeping as the morning sun burns my
It burns my tired eyes
Burns my tired eyes
[Chorus]
Don't care what comes around the bend
'Cause you and me, babe, we always bounce back again
And now the past is closing in on us
The past is closing in on us
The past is closing in on us
The past is closing in on us
