An Unexpected Cross Lyrics by Ernie Haase

Never Alone

0

Simon stood among the crowd
That lined the road to Calvary
Just one of many faces
That would watch this turn of history
But imagine Simon's great surprise
When they called him out against his will
"Take the weight from Jesus' back
Up to the rugged hill"
Sometimes we have to bear
An unexpected cross
That leads us to a mountain of sorrow
Though the pain may be great
And the price so high a cost
There's always a reason
For the unexpected cross
Simon could have never dreamеd
As the scene that day unfurlеd
How his inconvenient burden
Would be used by God to save the world
So, whenever you are forced to bear
A cross you may not understand
Just remember you're a part
Of the Father's perfect plan
Sometimes we have to bear
An unexpected cross
That leads us to a mountain of sorrow
Though the pain may be great
And the price so high a cost
There's always a reason
For the unexpected cross
When we see God face to face
And all our tears are dried
We will see and understand
All the reasons why
Sometimes we have to bear
An unexpected cross
That leads us to a mountain of sorrow
Though the pain may be great
And the price so high a cost
There's always a reason
There's always a reason
For the unexpected cross
