Jah Will Do The Fighting Lyrics by FAI STUDIOS

Ballads of the Exodus

2021

After the death of the firstborns across the land
Pharaoh released us from Goshen and
We set out across the peninsula of Sinai
Following a pillar of fire burning in the night sky
When we left I took the bones of Joseph with me
For the prophecy that they would be carried
To Canaan land where our forefathers were buried
To be laid to rest where Isaac and Rebekah were married
Halalalalalala
Jah will fight for us
The Lord He did not lead us into land of Philistines
He knew that we would to Egypt be returning
If we faced war for which we were not ready
Instead he led us east out toward the Red Sea
As we approached the coast that night
Pharaoh hardened his heart one last time
Like the turning tide again he changed his mind
Deploying his army to the desert behind
Halalalalalala
Jah will fight for us
In the distance we saw the dust storm rise
As terror filled our children’s eyes
The ground shook beneath us as we trembled inside
In fury gaining ground, his army did ride
Soon we would reach the cliffs at the end of the road
At the edge of the coast with nowhere to go
As the riders were riding violently striding
We had only to be silent for Jah would do the fighting
Halalalalalala
Jah will fight for us
Behold HIs wonders in the sky tonight
Behold His wonders on the land tonight
Behold His wonders on the sea tonight
Jah will fight for us
Only be silent
