Never What I Need (Always What I Have) Lyrics by Fiction I

Never What I Need (Single)

2024

[Verse]
Will I miss crying when I'm dead
When I feel comfort will I crave violence
Never getting what I want when I want it
But when I want something else
Will I look back at all those times in crowds
And wish I'd never have to my foot down
Look down towards this previous ennui
Something I once yearned for
Yet this is never what I need when I need it
But always just what I have
[Chorus 1]
I think this life just isn't fair. (Wish I could bring up the courage to say)
My favourite bench is always wet, what will soak up now? (That I want it this way)
My golden age will go to seed, (Wish I could bring up the courage to say)
But I'm a bit too tired, so I'll save it for someone else (That I want it this way)
The sun can't rise for me, eight hours I'll never see, time wasted. so will sleep until tomorrow
[Chorus 2]
Never learnt another phrase that means what I want and explains where I got it (Or is that what you want me to say)
So best to listen to all my words (Or is that what you want me to say)
'cause you'll never hear them again should I say it once more? (Rather what I wanted to think)
(Or is that what you want me to say)
I'll be holding The Fool when you want me to. (Rather what I wanted to say)
I think you want me to. I don't know... I'd say I'm haunted
[Outro]
When you're dreaming of me
Will you ask of me to be
Human like anybody else
Or is that what you want me to say
Rather what I wanted to think
Or is that what you want me to say
Rather what I wanted to think
