To Be Hated and Thus Corrected Lyrics by Fold (UK)

We Do Not Forget

2023

[Intro: Richard Bach]
Here is a test
To find whether
Your mission on earth
Is finished
If you’re alive
It isn’t
[Chorus: Gwendolyn Brooks]
I believe that anger
Can be creative
I’m not scared
Of the word hatred
Either because
I believe that
There are things
In this world
To be hated
And thus corrected
To be hated
And thus corrected
[Verse: Gwendolyn Brooks]
I just feel
There isn’t any time
For crying
[Chorus: Gwendolyn Brooks]
I believe that angеr
Can be creative
I’m not scarеd
Of the word hatred
Either because
I believe that
There are things
In this world
To be hated
And thus corrected
To be hated
And thus corrected
[Bridge: Gwendolyn Brooks]
I’m not scared
[Verse: Gwendolyn Brooks]
I don’t think
It would be a bad thing
If you did feel
Hit over the head
Or shaken about
Because I believe that
That can be creative
[Chorus: Gwendolyn Brooks]
I believe that anger
Can be creative
I’m not scared
Of the word hatred
Either because
I believe that
There are things
In this world
To be hated
And thus corrected
To be hated
And thus corrected
[Outro: Richard Bach]
What the caterpillar calls
The end of the world
The master calls
A butterfly
