Way of the Old Ones Lyrics by Forsaken Rite

For the Honour of Our Fathers

2015

[Verse 1]
In forgotten times of old, when stories were lived and not told
In the days of the sun and the moon and the stars, we worshiped the land and gods from afar
Forsaken rites were held, when law was ritual and spell
The sign we all hailed was a five pointed star and we were not bound by heaven nor hell
[Pre-Chorus]
Heaven nor hell
[Chorus]
We survived the inquisition
We survived the fall of Avalon
Our ways will not be forgottеn
The way of the old ones!
[Verse 2]
Nothing was tradеd for gold, power was earned by the brave and the bold
Our wills were not driven by wealth or gain, wars were won with blood and pain
Masters and kings did not matter, the choices we made were our own
The gods taught us meaning of right and wrong and our rights and our wrongs were ours alone
[Pre-Chorus]
Ours alone
[Chorus]
We survived the inquisition
We survived the fall of Avalon
Our ways will not be forgotten
The way of the old ones!
[Instrumental Break]
[Verse 3]
When was it that we lost our ways? What happened to the old one's days?
Where have the gods of old gone? Oh where in the hell did we go so wrong?
But there are still those that remember, that keep the old ways alive
Through the their memory lives on, for the way of the old ones we will strive!
[Pre-Chorus]
We will strive!
[Chorus]
We survived the inquisition
We survived the fall of Avalon
Our ways will not be forgotten
The way of the old ones!
