The Journey Lyrics by Fred E.T.

God Got A Funny Way Of Showin’ It!

2017

[Verse 1: Fred E.T.]
And just like that
Years ahead vision gettin cloudy
Also foggy by the now and my rear view mirror
Add another adventure
Lend me your ears hear my description
Lemme take u off to where i been hiding
Where my mind went?
Solitary confinement
Behind the bars rhymin
I'm stuck between the love and hate of myself
See me stuck in the mud 'cause i prayed for my reign and the day that it come
Now i know a nigga gotta bumrush through the the road blocks
Wonder if ever I made a wrong turn, i hope not
Whole lot of the rejections, letdowns, lack of moral support, but of course, i keep on steppin
Instead of mission abort
Wishin abortion on you dork negus imported callin celebrities momma & father
Father-time got no arteries out here
My noggin be not clear
Anxiety leaping over the Yeezys and Michael sneakers
It's mandatory I'm not defeated
I talk to people
Thru my travels and battles of second guessing, without a question, u let em tell it
"Now you gone make it homie"
"But we been waiting on you"
"So where the fuck you at my nigga?"
"Where them raps my nigga"
"Don't choke now, we consider you a stat, my nigga"
Confidence and self doubt
God gave you everything you needed
All planned out, so don't pout?
When I complain
"What's the stress bout?"
As he looking down, beyond that glass ceilin'
Minimal margin for losing faith and not believing in yourself won't help
Not even for a minute
This when you step back, pivot for your own living
Call me 'Cardiac Kemba' for the game winner
Been at it for a minute but the path is just beginning
Zig when they zag, got the fade to black ending
Getting closer to the soul, whenyo u hear me, I put that in it
Exact image of my emotions for the progressive rap critcs
This where I'm at with it
Keep the glass tinted
Cuz my drive got the craft in it
[HOOK: Fred E.T. + Karmen Be Beautiful]
Greener on the other side
We look down on mountain tops
Always lose if you dont try
Findin meaning to our life
[Verse 2: Fred E.T.]
I'm glad you made it
I been infatuated with waitin' to make a playlist
Of what I'm sayin on recent changes on my brain storm, reborn
I rain tornadoes
Now bring tomatoes
And keep these clown negus up outta my cipher
& fill it wit the livest of
Ideas in high tiers of my peers
Then I steer-
Right into the wrong direction, let my momma tell it
I can never find perfection
Stepped aside from pessimism
Killin' my biggest enemy
The endin' of new beginnings
Started focus on focusing
'Cause only hope can go so far
So i take control
Makin' my own destiny
Safe to say Imma a better me
The cheaper the talk
What's words without action
What's work with no practice
Or purpose, no passion
Or vice versa, I write verses
This light workin', a tight circle
We tightropin' a positive light
While im watchin' us fly
The stars in the night
Couldn't charge farther than the pie in the sky that I'm after
And imma have to
Catch a flight to the rapture, closing this last ch- *static*
