A thought Lyrics by Genesis the Greykid

grey matter

2020

[ intro ]
[ Poem: Genesis the Greykid ]
The sky isn't, that far away?...is it?
Maybe some...visit, can be arranged,
Where its large belly that hangs,
Can scrap the finger-tips...of a boy, who reaches for the stars.
[ Verse: Genesis the Greykid ]
This old man told me poetry’s hereditary,
Told me he heard my music back in February,
Looked into my eyes….told me that I’ll be legendary,
Hip hops calling for an answer im the secretary,
He told me very clearly...."keep killing’em ya flow is fresh to def so im dying to see the cemetery",
Forgot his name but he left me with a saying,
“best reason for dreams is that a reasons never necessary”
I bury, all of these seeds inside my cranium – looking at mankind like im watching some wrestle mania,
Tell me whats going on, ecology, the Marvin songs, and all the poems that I’ve been writing
Coinciding all along….Psalms,
I think our vision was the same, take the stain off ya soul and paint a picture you can hang,
Change, stop running from all ya thunderstorms life's about learning how to dance in the rain,
People smile when they see’em, frown at the speakers,
If the beats Oswald im jack ruby on the feature...killin',
Somebody open up this ceilin' – im climbing up out the box and conspiring with some pilgrims,
They told me to bring life back to music, knighted me with a sword that’s invisible til you use it,
Like you can’t call anyone honest until they prove it,
Hard to miss something you loving until you loose it,
Basics, sipping new castle in the fog, if they ask I went to go see a man about a dog,
This rap game flawed,
Its like im in a room full of Afros and im the only nigga going bald-ima stand out,
Only hand out is in the morgue,
Or ya left hand on a left turn out a ford….be content on whatever you afford,
And if we fly together than I promise you we’ll sore,
One of my best friends in Iraq, killing the innocent,
Surrounded by a government that wants to let the tension build,
I see him smiling over photos at the people killed, sometimes its hard to decipher what his intentions is,
Brainwashed….he taught me how to skateboard but since I don’t support war we don’t even talk,
Name getting bigger so im sure he heard the part,
Wondering what I meant, fast forwarding my remarks,
Im just trying to flood the city like Noah, sometimes I look at my wife….like I don’t know her,
Shes a real good women….and yeah I know I owe her,
But her attitudes explosive any moment she could blow up,
Or maybe I just joke too much and need to grow up,
Marriage so close to perfect haters throw up,
I chew on paint brushes and spit in living color,
Jim Carrey, Jamie fox, Keenen and the brothers...
