What kinds of insults did he attract?

“Hey Zeus, why you bleed like a fallen god?”
“Hey goose, do you sh— out gold eggs too?”
The shopkeep gave him a gentle nod
When he sold a jar of his gold
And he realized that being odd
Might not be the worst, but he felt cold
This value was about a disease he had
He was loosing his foothold
Soon the whole community hated their comrade
But he decided to have the last laugh
As they schemed how to make him a nomad
One last time he felt his father’s words
One last time he endured his mother’s hits
One last time he met his bullies
One last time, but this time with a smile
He walked to the square with a knife
Dragged it across the places
And such ended his beautiful, broken life
In front of a thousand faces
But that didn’t end his story
No, no, no, you underestimate these places
They ran to the fountain with his body
He bled his gold to the town
And everyone grew rich, basking in glory
His last act to bring them down?
His final cry out to the sky?
Did nothing, except increase their renown
