2 Shots Lyrics by Graphene

BLACK BOY

2020

Training Day scene
[Verse 1: Graphene]
This here a letter for my inner peace
Not a letter for my enemies
Write this letter full of energy
Hoping that this art is good enough for your centerpiece
Or better yet that wall in your office
Commemoration over admiration
Because when it’s time
To lay in that coffin
Nobody’s looking up to you
They’re just looking down
At your soul beneath theirs
Six feet under ground
And now they’re
Reminiscing and wishing times could be different
Like before a nigga mentioned the Crown
Before this organized sound
I was a kid similar to a pawn
Steady moving looking for ways to get on
Before benji’s I dreamed of getting Jacksons just like Mike or Desean
And prayed I get them before my time with the Lord
And now I’m using my sword
And yeah it’s liquid like the cash at the store
Feel like a Genius might of said it before
[Chorus: Graphene]
That if y’all don’t remember me
At least remember these words and commit them to your memory
And let them be your warmth when shit get cold like the winter be
And let these words sit on your soul like a pot that is simmering
And let them put some hair on your chest like a couple shots of hennessy
Man my nigga you supposed to sip that
You don’t take shots
Like a couple shots of hennessy
This nigga tripping dog
Let them put some hair on your chest like a couple shots of hennessy
Slow down nigga slow down
Yeah if you don’t remember me
Couple shots of hennessy
Like a couple shots of hennessy
[Verse 2: Graphene]
A wise man told me you only make a shot if you shoot
These ain’t free throws ain’t no stopping at two
Same man told me never buy a bottle of patron or some goose
And to only drink liquor that’s darker than you
A wise woman said that
Celebration is the only time that you drink
But never around the kids cause all they know is watch and repeat
Same woman told me that yo shot is as brief as a blink
No time to think you better use your instincts
I got a broke friend that told me he don’t drink cause it’s bad for his health
Then he told me that his health is his wealth
My rich friend got every type of liquor instead of books on the shelf
Said being drunk is the only time that he feel like himself
And for me
I spend my time avoiding the pressure of peers
I know some just drinking liquor just to lessen they tears
Others constantly staying buzzed just to lessen they fears
Just trying to add on to the lessons they here
[Chorus: Graphene]
So if y’all don’t remember me
At least remember these words and commit them to your memory
And let them be your warmth when shit get cold like December be
And let these words sit on your soul like a pot that is simmering
And let them put some hair on your chest like a couple shots of hennessy
If you see a nigga taking shots of hennessy that nigga fucked up
Like a couple shots of hennessy
You don’t remember me
Like a couple shots of hennessy
Couple shots of hennessy
Couple shots of hennessy
