(They Long To Be) Close To You Lyrics by Gwen Guthrie

Good To Go Lover

0

[Intro]
Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near
Just like me
They long to be
Closer, closer, to you
Closer, baby
Closer to your love
Duh duh duh
[Verse 1]
Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near
Just like me
They long to be
Closer, closer, to you
Why do stars
Twinkle in the sky
Each and every time that you walk by
[Chorus]
Just like me
They long to be
Closer to you
[Verse 2]
On the day that you were born
The angels got together
And decided to make a dream come true
They sprinkled moon dust in your hair
But baby, your eyes ain't blue
Oh, but I love your
Sexy, sexy moves
Oh that's why
All the girls in town
They love to follow you
All around
[Chorus]
Just like me
They long to be
Closer to you
[Instrumental Break]
Dee wee wee
I need you, baby
You’re driving me crazy
Closer
Ah, closer to you
On the day that you were born
The angels got together
And decided to make a dream come true
They sprinkled gold dust in your hair
But baby, your eyes ain't blue
Oh, but I love ya
Sexy, sexy moves
You know I wanna be the one
You lay that good loving on
I wanna be closer
Closer to your love
Like the collar on a dog
Just like the ham on a country hog
I wanna be closer
Closer to your love
I wanna get so close to you
I’ll be sticking like crazy glue
I wanna be closer
Closer to your love
Oh, that's why
All the girls in town
They love to follow you
All around
Just like me
They long to be
Closer to you
They love to follow you
All around
