Displeasing You is why You sent Your Son to His destination
With no hesitation, I chose to displease You and cause more devastation
My time with You has developed into a tearful memory
Resurrecting these dry bones is a thought that has never entered me
Because the enemy I found him like a lost child without a parent
Since I stopped reading, praying, watching actually it's become apparent
That I did this to myself and no one else, am I defeated?
Or is this skill so strong so long I've asked my heart to please be seated
Deep-seated was Your truth inside my heart, I asked no questions
But just chose to cling and trust You when life was teaching lessons
So funny how I expected recognition when I did a good deed
But like Peter and the disciples started praying in times of need
Jesus please help me to develop to this with much potential
When I feel weary, help me to abide within Your temple
Coz there's Fire within Your temple and that's where wisdom shall remain
If I choose to live Acts and turn this world upside down in Jesus' name
How God chose to put up with me is something I will never understand
I've been in moments where I stretched far without breaking like rubber bands
Lord how'd You do it, to this mortal young man
Even though You're the powerful, infinite God who possesses the upper hand
This sinful infiltration makes everyday a constant apology
Before Thee my guilt collects constantly like anthologies Lord
My problem's the admitting, my problem's submitting
In this society I'm fitting but far from You is where I'm getting
It hurts to see myself so far from You who first loved me
It's more than ugly to allow these temptations to start to shove me
Lord You're lovely, it hurts to know it and that when I sin
It's like I put You back on the cross all over again

From my heart to Yours You receive praise and homage
Being a backslidden believer is like a dog back to its vomit

It's been sometime since I've been in Your presence and my spirit's feeling it
In my heart there's a void for You Lord but You're not filling it
Concealing it around others, fronting like I'm okay
But I can't fool You coz You made me, Knower of my thoughts and ways
No time to pray today, I relay that practice to tomorrow
Besides I rather sit around feeling down and while away my sorrow
Or convince myself I'm right with You
And the only reason we haven't spent time together is coz I have so much to do
Knowing I don't do nothing but gaze into the TV
It's just fluorescent glow makes me forget reality
Easy succumbing to the flesh suddenly for less than Your best
Things I should detest I do, convictions I suppress
Depressed from the stress of it all, it seems with every test I fall
And if I'm not flat on my back I'm standing less than tall
Instead I cower when the enemy calls me a coward
I often believe and I fear I'll be devoured
Oh Lord rain and shower Your forgiveness and power
On my sin-sick soul, it's clear I have no control over this situation I'm facing
Draw me from the Pit
Call me and acquit Your servant to be spiritually fit
I'm hit with fiery arrows much more than several
It's evident I haven't worn my armor apparel
So wounded and scarred, battered and bruised I come to You
Mighty Physician heal me of this condition
True I don't deserve it because I did this to myself
But administer Your medicine and restore my health
I repent not just apologize, emulate Your Spirit rise
Lord help my flesh to die otherwise it's my demise
Less TV and more of Your word before my eyes
No more lust and lies, more praise and prayer times
I hereby declare that for You I'm gonna live
And I know that You're faithful and You're just to forgive
