Silent Crisis Lyrics by Heartsmith

2024

[Verse One]
If one day I chose to keep it inside
You'd never know what goes on in my mind
And sometimes I scare myself with how it's so easy
To keep things like this from everybody
[Chorus]
And I want to tell you everything
Oh I'm so sick of avoiding
When I know it's slowly killing me
But I know what it's like to give free therapy
And I don't ever want to come before your needs
So I'll push mine aside as if that makes sense
And I won't say a word until I'm in crisis
[Verse Two]
I can feel it in my chest
The way it crawls up in my neck
My thoughts form a noose
But you'd never know
Because I can talk with my head underwater
My smile's convincing, but if you look harder
There are bubbles caught inside my throat
[Chorus]
And I want to tell you everything
Oh I'm so sick of avoiding
When I know that it's slowly killing me
But I know what it's like to give free therapy
And I don't want to come before your needs
So I'll push mine aside as if that makes sense
And I won't say a word until I'm in crisis
[Bridge]
And I'll complain no one hears me til I'm loud
But how could they when I never made a sound?
I never made a sound
And I hate to feel like I'm lying
But if I know that I'm not dying
I'll survive telling myself it's fine
And I know one day it won't be alright
[Outro]
But how do I tell you everything?
When all I know is avoiding
Because I am the one who gives free therapy
And I cannot stand not meeting your needs
So I'll push mine aside convinced it makes sense
And I won't say a word until I'm in crisis
But I won't say a word when I'm in silent crisis
