Put the Word Out Lyrics by Heatwave

Central Heating

1978

[Intro]
Higher
We're gonna take it high, raise it up to the sky
So get the word around
Got to put the word out (Higher)
We can take it high (Raise the roof, we're gonna try)
Got to put the word out (Higher)
We can take it high (Raise the roof, we're gonna try)
Got to put the word out (Higher)
We can take it high
Got to put the word out (Higher, higher)
We can take it high (Raise the roof, raise the roof, we're gonna try)
Got to put the word out (Higher)
We can take it high (Raise the roof, raise the roof, we're gonna try)
Got to put the word out (Higher, higher)
We can take it high (Put the word out)
[Verse 1]
We got a message for the nation
To put your mind at ease
It's just an open invitation
So you can party how you please
So take your mind off what you're doin'
And let your body go
Let's see you grindin' to the groovin'
You gotta show
[Chorus]
So put the word out, spread it around
We're gonna party tonight
So put the word out, all over the town
We're gonna raise that roof high
We can reach right up to the sky
[Verse 2]
We got a funky situation
That's all you need to know
Just like a train that leaves the station
You got to blow
And when feelin' starts to get ya
We're gonna cook some more
Turn up the heat so it can hit ya
We're gonna burn you off the floor
[Chorus]
So put the word out, spread it around
We're gonna party tonight
Yes, put the word out, all over the town
We're gonna raise that roof high
We can reach right up to the sky
[Interlude]
Got to put the put the word out (Higher)
We can take it high (Raise the roof, raise the roof, we're gonna try)
Got to put the put the word out (Higher)
We can take it high
Put the word high around, high
[Chorus]
So put the word out, spread it around
We're gonna party tonight (Put the word out)
Yes, put the word out, all over the town
We're gonna raise that roof, yeah, hey
So put the word out, all over the town
We're gonna party tonight
Yes, put the word out, spread it around
We're gonna raise that roof, yeah
We can raise it up to the sky
[Outro]
Got to put the put the word out (Higher)
We can take it high
Got to put the put the word out (Higher)
We can take it high
Got to put the put the word out (Higher)
We can take it high
Got to put the put the word out (Higher)
We can take it high
Got to put the put the word out (Higher)
We can take it high
Got to put the put the word out (Higher)
We can take it high
