Daydream About Sleeping Lyrics by Hesperus

Dark Corners In My Circle

2017

Living off bought time, the clock ticks slowly, mice click as I sit gripped by unholy thoughts with only a few goals set in mind, that’s get up, go home, sit down, recline, wine and dine, flip phone and find friend’s numbers, message them, wonder if they’ll text back, my neck cracks, and i scratch my head with bad posture
As the net of fiber optics makes me claustrophobic
The future dangles in limbo, like gem stones from my earlobe
It’s not written in permanent ink
I squirm when I think
About a German beer and a bar stool
And the foolish things I say when I drink it
A dream of debauchery deferred from impossibly long hours
Starts to stink like rotten meat
This rotten week needs to be over
It’s bland and sober like Greek yogurt
I need relief before i fall asleep
I daydream about sleeping as I fiend for the weekend, cause that’s the time I get to schemin’ with a team of my demons
Wipin’ dirt up in the slate that i seem to be cleanin’
Tryna play it straight but lately i’m leanin’
