Today Lyrics by A Certain Energy

Work in Progress - EP

2017

[Verse 1: A Certain Energy]
Going after this I'm running all these red lights
She told she leavin' only because there's no time
I'm frustrated, my minds racin' from the design
Sayin' happiness is key my friend
Well shit then where's mine
I'm well worth it
I'm well deservin' so where's it at
I've suffered loses and any causes thats happened
I'm very prone to disaster
Not sure that it matters
Everything feeling cluttered
Getting out is the factor, yeah
And all I'm seeing is patterns
Give an eye for an eye
Yet nothing comes after
Why am I not surprised
It's somethin' they practice
Guess I'm in for the ride
Till the day that it crashes, yeah
I'm always passed in the brackets
With a ruptured Achilles I stay on my feet
And my heart will keep on beating the feeling
That struggle is feeding to me
At the end of this I gotta act like nothin' happened
[Chorus: Jai]
You know, you know
What I gotta do to make this happen
No matter on the time it takes I imagine
No there isn't time to waste
Gotta move today
You know, you know (you know, you know)
You know, you know (you know, you know)
[Verse 2: HighRise]
Yeah, uh
I lit a match in my pocket like I'm burning holes
All so I can get a song on the radio
My clock only got one time on it
Every day when I wake up I put my grind on it
And still I feel like I'm fallin' behind on it
Got a license to spit
And I'm a certified time donor
My mother my father
My brother, I'm comin' up
So I apologize for all this time I gave up
I know I don't say it
There's nothing but love
And soon you'll see that
There's a purpose for me
Spillin' my blood, uh
Malnourished
In body and spirit
My friends all say they hear it
Inside of my lyrics
I won't deny it, and it's implied that
I'm tryin' to incite a riot
But at what cost
I'm living life like I'm starving in the holocaust
And everyone around me says I'm lost
But fuck it
I'm giving it my all
[Chorus: Jai]
You know, you know
What I gotta do to make this happen
No matter on the time it takes I imagine
No there isn't time to waste
Gotta move today
You know, you know (you know, you know)
You know, you know (you know, you know)
[Verse 3: A Certain Energy]
If success is contagious
Then hopefully it's effective
I mean I'm losin' my mind
When I've been askin' for blessings
I've been working so hard
Yet the outcome it stresses
And I've been askin' for god
But he ain't gettin' my message
But I'm still in the runnin'
All the haters gettin' jealous man
I find that shit funny
Cus I'm on the table still and I don't talk about money
I mean I do
That's because your boy had started with nothin', yeah
They want me to be patient
Keep it with the game plan
And I don't even get it I don't do this for occasions
Tell me it's a safe bet
Homie shouldn't risk it
No offense to everybody, but this shit is business
And I don't ever want to front with you
Even with my problems
Ima still come up don't get confused
And from everything I've told
And everything that you see
The thing you'll never forget
The kid was born to succeed
[Chorus: Jai]
You know, you know
What I gotta do to make this happen
No matter on the time it takes I imagine
No there isn't time to waste
Gotta move today
You know, you know (you know, you know)
You know, you know (you know, you know)
[Outro: Jai]
You know, you know
What I gotta do to make this happen
No matter on the time it takes I imagine
No there isn't time to waste
Gotta move today
You know, you know
You know, you know
