Nah, that doesn’t make sense,
How charity can start at home if some of us don’t have an address,

Shore ditch apartments,
Houses in Spain,
Deciding between whether floor or carpet.
I leave the lights on when no one’s home,
I run up the stairs in the dark because I’m scared of being alone,
For some of us, there’s no place like home,
I said for some of us there is no place like home.
And it’s ruthless,
That it’s 2016 and people are still living roofless,
I’ve heard it all:
“Look at that tramp.”
“That guys on smack.”
“This is really what happens kids when you don’t pass your GCSE’s and SATS.”
During the war, air raid shelters were built in London for protection,
And today, air still raids the shelters in London and it sickens me I can see a reflection.
I don’t like the word shelter,
It doesn’t do it justice,
Once you have felt that freezing numbness of London’s roughness,
And you lock eyes with a volunteer and you feel that instant substance,
A bond so trusted that’s no longer corrupted,
A place where your alien thoughts are no longer abducted,
And the comforts of you heart and mind have finally adjusted,
And they will be with you until the year 3000,
And this don’t go busted
Like I said, I don’t like the word shelter,
It doesn’t do it justice.
It’s not even funny,
I’m walking down the street ordering food from Just Eat,
On the same street that people want to just eat,
I’m not trying to give a speech,
Even though it sounds like I am,
The irony is the proof is in the pudding,
I’m just as guilty as all of you, man,
Being homeless cannot be a part of our normality,
Can somebody please start a Kickstarter for humanity?
The fact that it’s a routine and it needs a workout is insanity,

And it’s upsetting because it’s real,
That life’s a Game of Thrones mixed with Netflix and chill,
I’m not trying to pretend it’s all right, you see,
I was left without food before,
