Counting on Monday Lyrics by In Pursuit

Standing in Your Shadow

0

In an empty field by the railroad tracks
You can see a martin on its long way back
Now the train's not rolling and there's no one here
But the telephone lines and a trail of tears
Everybody's hopin'
For a little good luck
No one ever shows up
And it's me
Countin' on Monday
Countin' on Monday
And I wish I was in another place, in a different time
And I hope there's a future by this time next year
I'll be counting the days until there's someone here
Nothin' ever changes
Changes for the better
Goin' through the motions
And it's me
Countin' on Monday
Countin' on Monday
It's all I know how to do
When the week brings nothin' new
When I leave it up to you
Everybody's hopin'
(Monday, countin' on Monday)
For a little good luck
(Monday, countin' on Monday)
No one ever shows up
(Monday, countin' on Monday)
And it's me
Countin' on Monday
Nothin' ever changes
(Monday, countin' on Monday)
Changes for the better
(Monday, countin' on Monday)
Goin' through the motions
(Monday, countin' on Monday)
And it's me
Countin' on Monday
(Monday, countin' on Monday)
Countin' on Monday
(Monday, countin' on Monday)
Countin' on Monday
(Monday, countin' on Monday)
Countin' on Monday
(Monday, countin' on Monday)
Countin' on Monday
(Monday, countin' on Monday)
Countin' on Monday
(Monday, countin' on Monday)
Countin' on Monday
