Morning. Ima start the day with a rant...
I normally get my haircut EVERY Wednesday at 12:30. Clockwork. & when I finish I book the next week. For some reason. I 4got to last time. So I go to the barber on Wednesday and we realise I haven't booked in. Pissed as it's fully booked till TUESDAY! I got things to do! So barber says he can squeeze me in Friday (today) 4pm but as I was going out last night, he'll holla if any openings. Cool. So Thursday 13:04. he calls me. Tells me if I can come NOW I can get a trim. So I drop EVERYTHING. Literally RUN down Portobello Road like I stole something. Get there, take off my jacket. But when my barber comes from downstairs, he looks at some next dude who's standing there & says "Oh you're here then?!"
So this is the dude whose slot I was GONNA take but he just turned up. So barber looks at me, looks at him - #kanyeShrug. I'm like bruv,
I ain't ran like that since the 90s! And I'm blatantly Mean mugging the guy whose trim it was lol. Whatever tho. Barber tried 2 squeeze me in & it flopped. Can't even be mad. Told him lets stick to the original Friday 4pm plan. Cool... THEN! While I'm out last night (w NO trim), I get a txt from my barber. Just after midnight : "10am slot tommorow (today now) is open. Let me know if u want it". So I'm like, Bless my barber going the extra mile for me... I reply saying I'll be there & thnx etc.
So on my bank holiday. I wake up early to get my trim. Just now, get a text : "The guy who I thought wasn't coming this morning, said he's coming so the 10am slot is gone". *sigh*
Thing is. I know my barber is blatantly going the extra mile tryna squeeze me in BUT moral to the story, I prefer a definite next week than a promise for tomorrow that you can't keep AND when u set that up w Good intentions, u end up the bad guy. Now I'm wide awake, mad, and ranting on twitter about a man who is blatantly "trying" to do me a favour....smh. Life!
Worse thing about it is I can't even b mad at him. He is technically pushing the boat out FAAAR for me so I've actually gotta b thankful lol. No good deed goes unpunished and all that.
