Ramadan Intensity Lyrics by ItsOthman

Ramadan

2016

[Intro]
(laughs)
Alright what's happening Habibis
It's that time of the year again
I can't eat when the clock strikes sunrise on Big Ben
Starve for a whole day, my belly is rumbling
Guess, it's time for another Ramadan spoken word I guess
Let's go

[Verse]
See, right now we are in the month of Ramadan
Where there's 20 hours between suhoor and iftar
Every time it comes around I'm like Oh My God
Counting down the hours till I am done with this fast
But you see as humans we are so damn ungrateful
When are plates are full, we still complain about our plate full
It's like we can't fathom the fact that our stomachs are soulful
For one month we just need to sacrifice
No need to take in an unnecessary mouthful
Like right now I am so lost
Mandem on the road, all they just wanna do is shot
For eleven months, no one touches mosque
Ramadan comes then people stop sniffing rock
You might call these people a Ramadan Musllim
But come on bruv, who is listening, just truly listen in
To the word of God, Allah the Almighty who has given me everything
And without Him, I would not be destined to do anything
So in this month, I encourage you to pray
And in this month, I pray as well through the bad sins we must try and abstain
Cuz I just wanna make it into Jannah, hip hip hooray
I mean what's the point of doing bad if we can do good
Let's not regret this, come on let's do what we should
Because I said, come on let's do what we should
Yet there are cities getting bombed out there
People keeping fast for days on out there
Yet we complain the 20 hour fast is our greatest life struggle
But my brudda stop complaining, this ain't worse than living in a jungle
Firm the fast, if you don't live in the fast lane, you'll never understand
What the less fortunate have
Be grateful that God's given you a roof and a car
For this reason, I like to see what it's like
In this month, I'm never doing wrong, I'm always tryna do right
Because my Lord has granted me this fast, and I will keep them
You can't stop me from jumping in the deep end
This ain't a swimming pool, but I'm in way too deep with my sins
Right now, and I'll get on my knees to repent to the Almighty, who is the Most Giving, Most Merciful
Let's do this, don't be deceitful

[Arabic Verse]
Bi haazal shahaar
Ana iftihimma haaza al-siyaam

All you do is cause yourself harm
Like, what's the point of doing wrong if you can do right
I can see in my peripheral vision, it's right there in my sight
Damn, control it, it's way too bright
Now just imagine if I walked into the light
Without fasting today, now that wouldn't be right now
Would it?
