A Message From Our Sponsors Lyrics by iVardensphere

Scatterface V2

2009

I don't know what to think anymore
Every time I look around, I'm utterly dumbfounded
Hipster vegetarians with designer paper cup lattes going to
Rock shows to idolize the talent they don't even try for
Gaggles of yittering, plastic girl two-faced scavengers
With a built-in need to be narrow
Their body mind equal to the size of their jeans
If the shithead baggy clothed hoodlums
Gathering around the shiny objects they call "bling"
Are in any of the alpha, then we were
From the beginning as a species
Obscenely sized automobiles blaring the words
Of someone with nothing to say
With backgrounds barely discernible
From the revving of engines around them
I can't even walk down the street without a constant reminder
Of people's hopelessness and inability to look after one another
What do we do?
We pay a guy already richer than us
To look after us and those around us
And then they take our money and power
And give it to people already richer than them
It's a hopelessly endless cycle that we can't get out of
No matter what part of that cycle we perceive ourselves to be in
No matter what part we think we fit or how high we think we are
And every one of us is helpless to resist
The power and conceived creativity of those above us
Every person we need to love
Helplessly pinned by this system of control
By the media, by the government, by the militarized
The economization of the things we own
The things we hope for
The things we think
The things we know
Pinned, helpless, and feeble as if oily
Savvy muscles are torn from our bones
Pray, pray
So we try to outguess each other
Staying ahead, succeeding the system we think we comprehend
A prick of light to pin our hopes to
Those are then been dashed
The mercury walls where our mind is stopped
Left to perceive these walls with a god-like celestial fortune
Spinning all around our floating, pneumatic egos
Those egos only connecting with one another
Out of a perceived understanding of superiority
To the other around them on some
He may be richer, but I'm better looking
She may give good head, but I looked better in this skirt
Our victories, little more than under failing of other failures
Our trophies, little more than the future generation's trash heap
Discovered words, mementos of love long forgotten
Occasional signs of the attempted creation of legacy
Of those legacies, trying to make something unforgettable
Unique, something true
Truth, the fools gold of our era
