Overdose Lyrics by J-Formz

Obligated

2016

[Verse 1: J-Formz]
This world's become obsessed, everything's God, and religion
Goes and becomes a priest cause somethin inside of him's missin
Gonna devote his life to always tryin to do right
And preaches a model on how to life your life
You see, he prays every day, and tries not to sin
He's damn near perfect from the outside lookin in
He's a channel of God's grace, the meaning of trust
But he touches kids in places they should never be touched
Tries to cover it up, but he made a mistake
He's in a mental prison, forever, he'll never escape
And as the years go by, man, it's killin him inside
He used religion to sin, where will he go when he dies?
Overdosed on God, it was all in his name
Loved the Lord so much, just little kids, the same
All the shit that he did, you think the Lord would forgive?
And as he passed, all God could hear him thinkin was this:

[Chorus:]
So sad, so sad...
Gone and lost the best thing I ever had
And you know, you know that I'm sorry
As our blood flows, I need you most
You've become, yeah, you've become my overdose
And you know, you know I'm so sorry, and how I loved you so...

[Verse 2: J-Formz]
This world's become obsessed, everything's God, and religion
Usin his name in vain as a reason for killin
He's got a beautiful wife, and wonderful children
Blessed with a great life, but somethin inside of him's missin
Wants to deliver a message if it means his life
And he loves his God, so he'll sacrifice
How could someone with so much love and commitment
Murder the innocent in the name of religion?
It was supposed to bring peace, but it brought war
Don't think that God would say that this is what religion is for
But the decision's been made, kisses his family goodbye
Looks them straight in the eye, and then walks away to die
But the problem is, he doesn't know if he's right
Is God happy or sad when he looks over his life?
Pleaded his case as he made the transition
God stood there and stared, and this is what he heard when he listened:

[Chorus:]

[Outro: J-Formz]
Doctors destroy health while justice is erased by lawyers
Schools corrupt knowledge, religion annihilates morals
Where banks ruin the economy, and information is distorted by the press
I find myself thinking: "If the world was blind, how many people would you impress?"
And I ask myself: "What kind of world is this?"
People were created to be loved, and things to be used
But things are being loved, and people abused
Where points are made with murder, and everybody wants to speak
But nobody wants to listen or practice what they preach
And I wonder: "What kind of world are we in?"
When the power of love overcomes the love of power; humanity will know peace...
