The Wind Lyrics by J. Lamar

2020

As I awake to the early morning sunrise I open my eyes and I see the sun shine
As I open up the blinds put aside the time to write a rhyme and reside to where I'm fine, now I've made you mine
Love is blind and such a gift, such a bliss, nothing that I'll ever resist
But - dreams are limitless so they'll forever
But when we pass and bonds are severed may endeavors let us be remembered
-----------
One time for the pretty women
Two times for my niggas livin
Three times for the city limits
-----------
Just landed back from Anaheim
Damaged raps just through my mind, truest crimes within the newest times
Trynna reach my prime but I need a ladder to climb
The questions that I'm askin
Less relaxin while they lackin the nutrition from the fastin
It's 2019 I'm 23 and niggas blastin
Loved ones is passin, we numb from the slashin, pain from the slain
The demons that just travel right behind us
We never let us blind us we just puttin up the blinders hopin that the rhymers find us to cosign us and align us, with them finest diners
Them better thangs, lettin out wit these letters man, no letterman
This pride is all we got so just let us hang
Like them hoes we ain't seen since high school
Told her she look good she said you look nice too
Don't mean to entice you, said it's dark and you got the light to, I ain't never met no one like you
So I'd like to lay under lights too, but despite you I'm feeling so spiteful
But when I write God is who I write to and through this mic is where I live my life through
-----------
I just let the wind blow
To ease away my soul
Defeating all my foes
But will I make it? Man I never know (never know)
Said I just let the wind blow (x2)
-----------
This poetry, this artistry is just a part of me, but don't pardon me cause it's hard to breathe and this life has put some scars on me
But it's God willin, hopin that my God is willin and he does some healin as the time's revealin
We still in this game but I'm feeling this pain
My friends sayin I don't act the same so I stepped into the rain
Knowin I'm below it askin questions bout it knowin that I know it
Now I'm hella focused
So when I wrote this I'm approaching on some hope shit
But yo God let me have a talk wit you
Walk to the park in the dark wit you
Cause I think I got my heart wit you
So I had to cope a tissue for these issues that I've been through
Pure soul but at times I'm sinful
We lost but we trynna win too
My soul flew when the wind blew
So I probably closed my eyelids and flied higher than the sky is
And nothing else is beside this----
So when I feel the breeze from the wind, I feel at ease once my again
-----------
I just let the wind blow
To ease away my soul
Defeating all my foes
But will I make it? Man I never know (never know)
Said I just let the wind blow (x2)
-----------
One time for the pretty women
Two times for my niggas livin
Three times for the city limits
