Bling Around The Collar (Fake Gold Chain) Lyrics by J-Zone

Sick of Being Rich

[Intro: J-Zone talking]
I got a confession to make. I be rocking fake gold ass jewelry. Fake chains, all that shit since I was 14. But I'm still bling blinging. What's that singing in the background man? I think she's singing "bling bling". Okay, reminiscing on high school fake Gucci link. I had all them hoes fooled. I kept it shiny with nail polish remover. That's all you need. $14 chain. So I had five. One for each school day. Turn my neck green, fuck it, I got four more. Let me reminisce a little bit. Keep it fake. What you talking 'bout baby?
[Verse One]
I was fourteen and lame but I was ready to ball
I ain't have no game, hoes ain't sweat me at all
This a goddman shame, I can't get fresh at the mall
I gotta get me a chain, but my pockets are small
And I'm looking at the album cover Walking With A Panther
LL trucking jewels, shit it seemed like the answer
Gotta get a Gucci link, yeah that should do the trick
Need a winter coat but shit I gotta scoop a chick
Besides fuck winter clothes!
Me and my man was about winning hoes on a budget so we said "fuck it"
Went to Kim's Gift Shop
4th Ave in Mt. Vernon
Cause back in '91, gold left heads turning
How much is that fake one in the window?
The one for $20 on sale
Shit that costs less than a Nintendo
Can't even get it that price through the mail
So I copped it
Rocking a fake chain to school
And every night I shined it with nail polish remover
It's a daily operation
Rocking my chain after dark, lurking at the train station
Mad brothers knew my name
So now I got a little fame
From a fake chain
That the Zone be wearing
It looks real
But they ain't staring
Just thinking of a way to snatch the motherfucker
I got a week until it turns green and gotta buy another
But they don't know it's fake so they ask me to run it
Eyeing, scoping, putting fingerprints all up on it
They grab it to snatch it then them niggas started laughing
Cause it left a green ring around the collar of my jacket
If the chain was real, I would've got robbed
So I look back and shit, man my problems were solved
I got a chain for every occasion, I'm cheap
And to keep from getting robbed I keep a closet full of fake ones
A lot of y'all are fronting I won't say no names
But fuck it I'll admit it, I rock fake gold chains
"I knew all along you was fake"
[J-Zone talking]
No you ain't. I had you fooled too. With a little nail polish remover, sheeeet. That's what I'm talking about. Stop fronting. You got a bling on. You got to keep bling on. Bling-a-rama. Rocking fake chains baby. Fake ice, fake platinum. Balling on a budget! Fuck Jacob The Jeweler! Fuck him! Fuck him! Hahaha
[Hook] {x4}
Bling hard
Bling harder
