Born a Legend Lyrics by Jack Rootes

Bedroom Rap

0

[Verse 1]

1996 is where our story starts
A Tuesday child born of two loving hearts
Two parents, one flourist, one firefighter
Tryin' to write the perfect life like a scriptwriter
For their new son, made from their genetics
Love drew them together like magnetics
Childhood memories that they'd be saving
For this little boy, life had felt so amazing!

But life went 'round and brought some hurt about
Things between his parents just didn't work out
So they wеnt their seperatе ways whilst still in contact
Shared custody of their son with their moral contract
Father moved out, found himself another lover
Son spent the days shared with his dad and his mother
But that little boy had no idea what he'd become
As he marched through life to the sound of the drums

[Hook]

Walkin' on and on
Walkin' through the storm
That life may throw his way
But happy he would stay

Because he knew that one day
He will find a way to make his life worth
That was what he expected
'Cause he was born a legend

[Verse 2]

A few years pass, the son is now older
He starts to see that the world is much colder
Than what he believed when he was a child
To get used to this might take a while
But for now, he's focusing on school
With higher grades, he stands out feeling cool
Then he goes to college to further his education
Hoping that'll bring his future a lot more acclamation

But his social skills were lacking sadly
Preferred to be alone, fact he handled gladly
'Till the day that he walked inside the booth
Found out that he didn't have to hide the truth
He met some nice people, that would give much love
He dropped that first hit, then he couldn't get enough
Over time, music was what he loved and adored
Might be a hobby, but to him, it was much more

[Verse 3]

So we transition into his adult years
He's got a head of bright dreams and dull fears
He ignores the people who say he's bluffing
Hoping to build himself a name out of nothing
Got a few friends that'll support his back
Whether or not he is busy on a track
All his emotions and thoughts while in the zone
Get spilled out of his head, into the microphone

But then a tragedy hit him one day
When he found out his best friend had passed away
It broke his spirits, but it also gave him energy
To keep on making music, in his memory
So he keeps working, hoping that potentially
If he works hard, then eventually
He can make a decent living of the music he makes
Until the day he's up there with all of the greats

[Break]

Now he feels like every dream of his is coming true
This is something he didn't picture during his youth
A sizeable record of tracks under his belt
That he knows will do him so damn well
Spending time perfecting his vocal views
He even had his face on the local news
And there's no chance of him givin' in
How do I know this? 'Cause you're listenin' to him!

[Hook]

Walkin' on and on
Walkin' through the storm
That life may throw my way
But happy I will stay

Because I know that one day
I will find a way to make my life worth
That was what I'm expectin'
'Cause I am born a legend
