Keep Your Head High Lyrics by Jafaris

Velvet Cake

2017

[Verse 1]
I'm tryin' to be an OG (OK)
I know you're tryin' to get to know me
Tryin' to get ahead before me
Well that's OK, that's OK
'Cause my roots well calculated
Tryin' to cross pavements and I won't fake it
'Cause I will make it, I will make it
That's the fact of the matter, factual matters
I'm guessin' that's the reason why I matter for the moment
Word to my conscience, tryin' to put my ego in the coffin
Had to keep a knockin' on my noggin
That's some real 'ish
I ain't tryin' to milk it
Starin' at my derrière
You don't need to understand I'm very fair
So damn moronic I'm afraid of fear
Mind full of knowledge you might need to hеar
Only got a piece of me to givе you here, only got a piece of me to give you-
[Pre-Chorus]
You'll be OK, just like they say
Keep you head high, boy
Don't run away, don't be scared
Keep you head high, boy
You'll be OK, just like they say
Keep you head high, boy
Don't run away, don't be scared
Keep you head high, boy
[Chorus]
Keep your head high (Hey)
Givin' up had never been an option
Keep your head high (Hey)
Givin' up had never been an option (Tell em')
Keep your head high (Hey)
Givin' up had never been an option
Keep your head high (Hey)
Givin' up had never been an option (Tell em')
[Verse 2]
Look at it skippin' a rocks
Spinnin' a hip 'till it locks
Money ain't somethin' I got
Still tryin' to figure it out
Believin' for better without a doubt can never count me out
'Cause I'm about my business
I'm independent but still dependant on parents
I can't defend it, now hear it out
Can't wait for the day I say "I'm here now"
Tryna stay honest 'till I get aired out
My life is like a movie on repeat
Overdosin' on the [?] till I can hear it on the streets
On the wrong side of life, a clear shadow from the clouds
But still believin' in God that I'm one day goin' to make it out
Puttin' up with insecurities that seem to lead to doubt, uh
[Pre-Chorus]
You'll be OK, just like they say
Keep you head high, boy
Don't run away, don't be scared
Keep you head high, boy
You'll be OK, just like they say
Keep you head high, boy
Don't run away, don't be scared
Keep you head high, boy
[Chorus]
Keep your head high (Hey)
Givin' up had never been an option
Keep your head high (Hey)
Givin' up had never been an option (Tell em')
Keep your head high (Hey)
Givin' up had never been an option
Keep your head high (Hey)
Givin' up had never been an option (Tell em')
