Cosmic Rot Lyrics by Jim Pembroke

Hot Thumbs O’Riley – Wicked Ivory

0

[Intro]
Yeah well, that was The Dandy Upstarts [?] for you one time, uhh... We gonna go along, right along in here- uhh... uhh... uhh...

Cosmic rot, foreboding might
Castled shadows, turret's proud
Banner standing, drawbridge tight
Protected in your shroud

Cosmic rot, silent moat
Pawns of silence, knights of black
Purple pupils glance to gloat
Protected at your back

Yes, well... I suppose I could go on all night, but I must tell you all about the steam engine I once had; used to sound a little bit like this... [imitates steam engine] yes... If I had to take a test somewhere I don't think I would pass... Just like, if you should ask a scientist to go out into space and create a blade of grass he can't do it. That's why I think evolution is a load of rot...

Oh, just a minute...

Yes... [laughs] Well, as I was saying... I don't think tests should be allowed, because for example we could take a circle and create little volcanoes in it... and then cover it all up with sand, and build a castle on it. "Drawbridge tight, banner standing", you know... And stick a nice colored flag on it, yes... and call it "home" or "the fatherland" or "the republic", or anything... However, everybody knows that in order to build a castle from sand the sand must be wet... and the best sand of course is near the sea. And every- every- every... everyday the sea floods over the sand and knocks down all the nice little castles that might be there, yes... The only problem is that people keep trying to stop the sea, and I know you've read about Canute and all that... Therefore I think elections are a load of rot...

[Outro]
Yeah... yeah- yes, well. Thank you, that was Mr Weird Michael and, uhm... I have to explain here, ladies and gentlemen, that he's related to the guy throwing this whole gig so we had to find him uhh, you know, a kind of 'guest spot' here, so I hope you understand. We- we'll be back for part two of the show in a few minutes, don't go away do-do-do-dooo...
