Disillusioned Lyrics by Jinx

Suicide Was Too Easy

1999

[Verse 1]
When I came into town with a head full of blends
I was young and naive, following the new trends
Not a thought, not a truth, only lies up in mind
All these nice people, they were gonna be kind
And supposedly treat me the best way they could
But instead they did not, in fact they so rude

[Verse 2]
Went to the station in a long silent motion
There were two funny guys who explained me the ocean
The nature, the law and the things from below
What I could only hear was the sound of my toes
I started to laugh and they started to die
So I was left alone with me, myself and I

[Verse 3]
I was outside again, wondering what would come next
A moth or a goth with a most ancient text
I got neither of them but I met an old man
Who was riding a moose and sure shook a can
Full of a booze my nose could not stand
And he told me that once he had played in a band

[Verse 4]
So I said "How come I can't remember this?"
He said "What you deserve, son, is just a good kiss"
I hit the road again when he told me that we
Would all fall in decay and be lost in the sea
I have no remorse now when I think about him
Cause gods only push lights into growing dim

[Verse 5]
At this point of my trip I was quite a lot tricked
By the fist in my face of a long drug addict
With my head through wall, I was then looking tired
And I said "You're no good, you must wait till low tide
To get a good fix and be relieved in time"
My boxer said "Thanks, you're a good friend of mine"

[Verse 6]
Then I looked at the sky and it was overcast
So I went to a shack, I was running so fast
A woman so ugly was waiting within
She stirred a duck soup, watching me with a grin
Was she made out of wood? Was she floating or what?
She sure was a witch so I left like a rat

[Verse 7]
I ran like the devil till I got to a lake
And then I was exhausted, I was just a big ache
I met a white dog, but he was black and blue
So I happened to ask "Oh, what have you been through?"
He was staring at me, I was feeling confused
But he couldn't answer, he sure had been misused

[Verse 8]
So then I was about to go back to my trip
When I saw you in front of me, you were so hip
With the eyes and the smile and the breast and the hair
Of a goddess in bloom who could laugh like the air
Talk to the flowers and be naive like me
From now on, the two of us were gonna be happy

[Verse 9]
Now I'm not young and naive anymore
I am weary and on the wrong side of your door
I am lost in the fog of my beautiful past
I should have known that this fairy tale wouldn't last
If I could only go back to my trip and leave
And forget you and try once again to believe

[Outro]
To believe
To believe
To believe
To believe
To believe
To believe
