Wedding of Haberek--Klementowicz
Miss Harriet Klementowicz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Klementowicz, 38 Gaines Street, this city, and Casimir Haberek, son of Mrs. Helen Haberek, Fort Johnson, were married Sunday morning at 11 o'clock during high mass in Stanislaus' Church, this city, in the presence of many relatives and friends. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Stanislaus M. Gospodarek. Miss Edith Witkowski, Albany, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor and Miss Jean Klementowicz, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. Chester Klementowicz, brother of the bride, acted as best man and Adam Haberek, brother of the bridegroom, as usher.
The altar was adorned with tail standards filled with many-shaded zinnias, white phlox and gypsophia and the chancel was banjed with palms, ferns and other foliage plants.
As the bridal party entered the church, the "Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin, Wagner was played by Joseph Tralka, presiding at the organ, Mr. Tralka's son, George Tralka, rendering violin accompaniment. During the ceremony, the Harfa Choir, of which the bride is president, sang "Veni Creator," Hammerell, and "Ave Maria," Schubert. A violin solo was also given by George Tralka. The recessional music was "Wedding March" from Midsummer Night's Dream, Mendelssohn.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a white princess style gown, Medieval period, encrusted with pearlised orange blossoms, and full skirt ending in a long train. Her long bridal veil of tulle, encrusted with orange blossoms in the same manner as the gown, fell from a crown of French pearlised orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of double white Killarney roses and calley lilies with maidenhair fern tied with white satin ribbon and streamers of white sweet peas on French maline. Miss Witkowski, maid of honor, was attired in an aquamarine chiffon gown, Grecian style, with tufted chiffon bolero jacket and sweeping skirt. She wore a doll hat of pink tulle. Her bouquet was of Queen Mary roses, blue sweet peas and rubrum lilies caught with wide pink satin ribbon and showered with pink satin ribbons and Sweetheart roses.
Miss Klementowicz, bridesmaid, wore an original gown of pink silk net over taffeta, with fitted bodice and sweeping skirt and with a cape fashioned of many rows of net. Her doll hat was of blue tulle and her bouquet was of Queen Mary roses, blue sweet peas and rubrum lilies tied with wide blue satin ribbon and streamers of blue satin ribbons and blue sweet peas.
Mrs. Klementowicz, mother of the bride, was attired in a blue printed crepe dress with accessories in white. Her corsage was composed of pink Premier roses and white sweet peas. Mrs. Haberek, mother of the bridegroom,, wore a blue printed crepe dress and white accessories. Her shoulder bouquet was of pink Premier roses and white sweet peas.
A reception for 150 guests was held at the Z.N.P. Hall following the ceremony. Raymond W. Guzielek acted as toastmaster. The Rev. Father Gospodarek opened the dinner with a prayer and later, speeches were given by the Rev. Alexander J. Augustynowtcz, the mother of the bridegroom and the parents of the bride. A grand march led by the bride and the bridegroom brought the reception to a close. The hall was decorated for the occasion with pink and blue crepe paper streamers and the white tables were arranged in a horseshoe formation and were decorated with garden flowers.
Mr. and Mrs. Haberek left for a motor tour of the New England States and Washington, D.C. For traveling the bride wore a blue sport dress with white accessories and the corsage of white Killarney roses and valley lilies. Upon their return, Mr. and Mrs. Haberek will reside in a newly furnished apartment in Fort Johnson. The bride, a graduate of the Amsterdam School of Commerce, is connected with the office of the Amsterdam Printing Company. The bridegroom is a mechanic in a Fort Johnson garage.
