Get Ready Lyrics by John Campbell Munro

1

[Verse 1]
I can see the end is coming but I’ve never liked the odds
I need a way to even up the deal
In the fields around Glenrowan where they turned the fertile soils
We’ll take their ploughs to fashion into suits of steel
[Chorus]
I’ve read what the good book says
It’s always by my side
But now we’ll weave the plough shares into armour
Nowhere left to hide
[Verse 2]
Sick of running, sick of hiding, sick of heart and soul
The time has come to cut this story short
So, we’ll gathеr at Glenrowan now that Joe has paid the toll
And thе troops will come from Beechworth just to see the sport
[Chorus]
I’ve read what the good book says
It’s always by my side
But now we’ll weave the plough shares into armour
Nowhere left to hide
[Verse 3]
It’s just a railway siding where the lines meet and divide
An enchanted crossbow now in midnight’s gleam
Just ride to take the train and take the captives for a ride
And bargain to free Ellen and to pardon me
[Chorus]
I’ve read what the good book says
It’s always by my side
But now we’ll weave the plough shares into armour
Nowhere left to hide
