Als ich 1978 auf der Suche nach starken Countrysongs für ein Album "Die 24 bekanntesten Countryhits" auf den amerikanischen Titel "Teddybär" stieß, hat mich dieser Song verständlicherweise sofort berührt, obwohl ich ihn aufgrund des Dialekts nur teilweise vеrstand
An einem heißеn Julitag hab' ich mich hingesetzt und die Geschichte nach meinem Empfinden geschrieben und ich glaube, dass mir jemand dabei die Feder geführt hat. Als ich dann mit der fertigen Story zu meinem Freund und Komponisten Hans-Georg Mooslehner kam, war auch dieser gleich tief berührt, setzte sich spontan ans Klavier und komponierte diese Melodie dazu
Fast 10 Mio. mal auf Tonträgern erschienen und verkauft ist "Ruf Teddybär 1.4" eines der erfolgreichsten Lieder in Deutschland. Ich habe - und das weiß ich - vielen Menschen das Gefühl gegeben, mit ihren Problemen nicht alleine zu sein. Und ich habe mit Sicherheit so mancher Seele Trost und Hoffnung gespendet
Und fragt mich einer: "Was ist Glück?" So zitiere ich meinen Andreas, der kaum sprechen kann: "Papa, ich bin Teddybär!"
