NEW RELIGION Lyrics by Joseph Solomon

2023

[Verse 1]
I don't pray too often
I don't believe in the stars
I let go of dogma and doctrine
But you were the only thing that felt true
But you left me crying
I tried everything and I think
I'm running out of options
I need a miracle for you
[Pre-Chorus]
Maybe we're all alone
On this flying turquoise stone
And no one's in control
But I'll try anything that
That could bring you back
So I'll
[Chorus]
I'll find a new religion
And make someone somewhere answer my prayer
Just so you would listen
I'll find a new religion
[Verse 2]
Delivered texts and my missеd calls, uh
My mom says you're gone
New man and nеw home
Don't believe her
There's still something between us (Ooh)
So I walk to the altar
I told the preacher, "I'm fine
I don't need much time
Just one thing (One thing, one thing)
Can you tell the Lord I need her?"
[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, 'cause baby I'm all alone (Ah, yeah)
On this flying turquoise stone, ooh
And I'm trying to find control
I'll try anything that
That could bring you back to me, baby
So I'll
[Chorus]
Find a new religion
And make someone somewhere answer my prayer, oo-ooh
Just so you would listen
I'll find a new religion
[Bridge]
Ooh, it's been a long night
But I'll be ready for church in the morning
It's been a while since I've gone in
I just want you all mine
Just to carry your love in the morning
It's been a while since you called me
Ooh, it's been a long night
But I'll be ready for church in the morning
It's been a while since I've gone in
I just want you all mine
Just to carry your love in the morning
Been a while since you called me
[Outro]
I'll find a new religion
'Cause it's lonely here loving you
There's nothing else I can do
Need divine intervention
'Cause you were the only one that could save me
You were my religion
