You Seem Great Lyrics by Josh Tavares

Ashes

2020

I wish I knew you better than I do right now
All this time wasted for what?
Now I’m locked out
You sound great, it’s been weeks since we’ve talked
You look great, it’s been years since I’ve seen you
You seem great, it’s been my whole life since I wanted you
You
I told a lie, I left you rollin’ in the dust
Too late to go back, we’re grown
Need to get up
If I could get a restart
All the pain all over
Just to get another chance
At what I asked for that September
You sound great, it’s been weeks since we’ve talked
You look great, it’s been years since I’ve seen you
You seem great, it’s been my whole life since I wanted you
You
Play your rap and I just tell you to turn it down
You like coffee, going shopping for vintage now
Blaming me for bad directions as we turn around
Oh
But I won’t let go
As long as we have rope
All we want (could happen)
You sound great, I’ll shut up, you do the talking
You look great, (hmmm)
You seem great, it’s been a long road of lov-in you
