BABY KNOCK ME DOWN Lyrics by JR SPECS

’99 DAYDREAM

2020

[Intro]
Hey, How do you do it JR?
Yuh, yeah
[Verse 1: JR SPECS ]
Ever since flip phones I was tryin’ slide
Go bananas, trying to be the apple of your eye
Real shit, baby
Got me stressed on vacation, no escaping
Playing with my head and my heart
She would shut me up quick like “don’t even start”
But when I found somebody you tried to pull us apart
You wild behind the scenes, saying I’m 'round your finger like gold and diamond rings
And those are finer things
And you were fine as hell, why lie?
Stuck on you for years before I knew how to drive
By the time I learned you had already dipped with some Hollywood fella in a cool ass whip
Baby, that’s a trip, tried to tell it all to you in your room
You sang even louder to a different tune, so, that’s that
You'd think so, huh? And one day I did grow up
[Chorus: JR SPECS ]
But you told me to stay, now go
Now drop down low, now stop
Now roll, now talk, now don’t
I did for you, yeah (I did for you)
But now I know, the way that the wind gon’ blow
Every time you around, yeah
Baby knock me down, yeah
Well you're here so might as well, yeah
Well you're here so you might as well, yeah
[Verse 2: B. Aull]
Hey, I was young and naive, ready to shoot
With a gun up my sleeve
You used to stay up 'till 2, or 'till one of us leave
And that was usually you
Truthfully you were cute
But I rebuke all the time I spent being deceived
Yeah, I think I learned my lesson
No, I wouldn’t do that again
But as a teen I was under the impression that you wouldn’t have me down bad again
And one day, man, I did grow up
I heard you took a dig, so what?
Bitch, dig deeper
Didn’t think I’d win like this, a big sleeper
Could’ve been Missus but shortie missed out on a keeper
But what they say man, all’s well that ends well
We all fall, we all walk on eggshells
At some point, but that point hit a dead end
If I pull up to you now, bet you get in
[Chorus: JR SPECS ]
But you told me to stay, now go
Now drop down low, now stop
Now roll, now talk, now don’t
I did for you, yeah (I did for you)
But now I know, the way that the wind gon’ blow
Every time you around, yeah
Baby knock me down, yeah
Well you're here so might as well, yeah
Well you're here so you might as well, yeah
