The Bad Girl: Page 1 Lyrics by Kalee Fetters

2020

“BEEP,BEEP,BEEP,BEEP'' my alarm clock, again. I sit up and smack it as hard as I can to get it to shut up. Hi, my name is Delilah Besson, and I have a twin. His name is Corbyn and we are complete opposites, nothing in common at all. I even went through the trouble of dyeing my hair black so I wouldn’t look like him. No one has noticed that we are twins, though we do have the same last name. I guess not many people know his last name because he’s the goody two shoes and everyone, even teachers, just call him Corbyn. I may look innocent at first but I’m the bad girl at school, people don’t like me because I’m “scary”. I don’t really care though because I only trust a select few people, my best friend Christina for instance. I do have a sweet spot for my brother Corbyn though, of course I don’t show him, who do you think I am? I love the Rolling Stones and I skateboard everywhere. I get in trouble a lot and I spray paint buildings. I know, I know I could get arrested but I haven’t because, I can’t tell you but I have my ways. I’m 17 and a senior in highschool, my mom thinks I’m horrible but my dad finds me hilarious.
I get out of bed and get ready for school. I walk to my bathroom, shower, do my hair and makeup. I wore my favorite black cargo pants, a white tank top, my black leather jacket and my chain. I put on my black combat boots, not rushing at all because I didn’t care if I was late. I grab my board and bag, run downstairs and grab an apple. My dad was sitting at the table eating jelly toast, sipping coffee. I walked over to him, “Good Morning Daddy!” I said sweetly, kissing him on the cheek. I have always loved my dad more than anything, I might not show it to Corbyn but my soft spot for my dad is very noticeable. My tone of voice changes, the way I act, even my posture changes whenever my father is in the room. My mom walked in “Hello honey,” she said just like every morning. “Hello mother,” I said, my tone changing completely than when I was talking to my dad. I walked out the door, played some music and skated to school. I was listening to “Tumbling Dice”, my favorite Rolling Stones song, when Corbyn drove past me. All his friends in his car, he opened his window, motioning me to take out my headphones. I didn’t listen, just skated off. I skated into school, hopped off my board and opened the double doors, walking in. Everyone stopped doing what they were doing, and looked at me. “Excuse me but what are y’all looking at?” was all I had to say and they looked back to what they were doing.
I put my board in my locker, I heard Christina behind me. “Hey babes!” She hugged me tightly. “Tina!” I hugged her back, “It’s been way too long!” Then they walked in, Corbyn and the other boys, I looked at Corbyn he was pissed. Christina and all of Corbyn’s friends knew about mine and Corbyn’s secret. He glared at me as he speed walked towards me and grabbed my hand dragging me into the girl’s restroom. There was a girl in there washing her hands, I gave her a death stare, motioning her to leave with my hand and she ran away. He looked at me, “WHY TF DIDN'T YOU ANSWER ME THIS MORNING?!” he screamed in my face. I looked at him and crossed my arms, leaning all my weight to my right side.
“CONTINUE TO YELL AT ME AND WATCH WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU!” I spat back getting really close to him. He shoved me back, “I’m sorry! But I need to talk to you..” he started trailing off making me nervous. I looked at him with a worried look on my face, he looked scared, like he just saw a ghost. I grabbed him by his shoulders and hugged him, “Bean are you okay?” I asked him, concern tinting my voice. He pulled away from me, looking at the floor, “I like Christina…” he mumbled, I thought I was hearing things for a second. Did my twin brother just say he LIKED CHRISTINA! My best friend, my sister from another mister. This is not happening, my blood started to boil, my face turning red. “WHAT THE HECK DID YOU JUST SAY!?” I screamed at him, knowing exactly what he just said. This is unacceptable because if he hurts Christina, I’ll have to hurt him and I really don’t want to do that. I storm out of the bathroom and stomp to my locker. I grab my board and phone, I slam it closed and turn on “Paint it Black'' by the Rolling Stones. Everyone staring at me in my angry state, I flipped all of them off as I skated off school property, I needed to calm down. I’ll come back in the second period. I just need some time to myself. As I’m skating Jason walks past me, he’s one of the popular boys, he’s captain of the Varsity football team. He’s tall, muscular, dating the cheer captain and I might have a crush on him. I stare at him as he passes me, his blonde hair blowing in the wind. He noticed me staring and looked at me, I looked away and skated faster. After about an hour I decided to go back to school, when I got there no one was in the halls, I looked at the time and the second period had started.
