Kev’s Message for Charlie Lyrics by KC Accidental

Captured Anthems For An Empty Bathtub

1998

(A dial tone is heard; a number is dialed)
(A ring-tone plays hard rock for a moment; an automated female voice says: "Please enter your pass-")
(The voice is interrupted by more numbers dialing)
(The voice says "Eight-," meaning to say "Eight old messages," but is interruped by another number dialing; old messages begin to play)
(First Saved Message: A man says "Hello, Justin. How are you doing?" The message is skipped.)
(Second saved message: A woman says "Hi, Justin, it's-" and the message is skipped.)
(Third saved message: A man says "Hey, James-" and the message is skipped)
(Fourth saved message: A woman says "Hi Justin, it's your mom-" and the message is skipped)
(Fifth saved message, marked 'Urgent': a man whistles, and a brief guitar tune is played; the message is skipped.)
(Sixth saved message: A man says "Charles,-" and the message is skipped)
(Seventh saved message: A man says "This is a message for Charlie, so will you please save it, thank you.")
(A heavily processed guitar is played, which gives way to less processed instrumentation; the track begins)
(The automated voice comes back and says: "End of message. To erase this message press seven. To reply to it press eight. To save it press nine.")
(Silence: the voice repeats itself. More silence.)
(The voice asks: "Are you still there?" The voice echoes and fades out.)
