If I Open My Eyes Lyrics by Kevin Sharp

Love Is

0

She's packing the last of what is hers
She's leaving nothing behind
She thinks that I'm asleep
But I hear her every move
Sounds like she's made up her mind
She's as quiet as a ghost
Except for the creaking of the floor
And now the hardest
That I'll ever have to do
Is hear her walk out of that door
But if I open my eyes
I know I'll see her leaving
And the sight of that
Would make me lose control
So I'll lay here in the dark
Though it's tearing out my heart
If I were going to open my eyes
I should have done it long ago
I should have shown her how I felt
I took for granted that she knew
In my mind I though
She'd always be around
And now I just can't face the truth
But if I open my eyes
I know I'll see her leaving
And the sight of that
Would make me lose control
So I'll lay here in the dark
Though it's tearing out my heart
If I were going to open my eyes
I should have done it long ago
Any fool could have seen
The man she needed me to be
Any fool, but me
So if I open my eyes
I know I'll see her leaving
And the sight of that
Would make me lose control
So I'll lay here in the dark
Though it's tearing out my heart
If I were going to open my eyes
I should have done it long ago
If I was gonna open my eyes
I should have done it long ago
