Serious Choices Lyrics by Kid D

Substance - EP

2020

[Chorus: Novelist]
I’ve got a lot on my mind
I’ve gotta make serious choices
So many people, so many faces
So many voices
Still on the ends, one day
We’re gonna see more employment
Gonna be so wealthy
I’ll share what’s mine for my own enjoyment
Don’t care for the road
Or fear for the boy dem
They used to hate all the songs we sang
But now they enjoy them
Called us noisome
Now I’ve got bread and I’m here rejoicing
Had to avoid them draw-outs
Man, I made serious choices
[Verse: Kid D]
When the mobile pops, it’s ring-ring-go
No, we can’t put the money on hold
Pattern up a riddim and get the tune sold
We made up our mind, gotta stick to our goals
People be drugged up, left on the roads
Can’t be cold, gotta help out when they’re low
Do you know what it’s like when you ain’t got nowhere to go?
Trapped on your own, just wanna get stoned (faded)
Real
We all go through certain phases
Get your mind out of the gazing
I make beats that you cannot play with
Certified wizard and you know that I state it
That’s my choice in this life, no stress
Just tryna make everyting bless
Still mix on shows and mix on sets
Live and direct
We out here on our own
We ain’t taking no losses
We fight for a cause
And we won’t ever be stopping
Go get what’s yours
But make sure they’re copping
We’ve got our own sound locked down, my guy
That’s why we ain’t flopping
Just last week, they were acting a nuisance
How they scared of solutions?
Yeah, they’re putting in work but it needs some improvement
Start making a movement
Nice with the format
Uplift the world, full-speed, my G
We ain't ever gonna hold back
Watch how we’re doing it now
But you better not try and make contact
Dem man have got awkward energy
They’re their own worst enemy, fuck all the jealousy
I don’t give a damn what they’re telling me
Cuh we’ve got aims and goals
Watch how you move on road
Dead vibes, we ain’t inna that zone
We’re just tryna bill a style and take the sound home
I’ve got a lot on my headtop
Gotta stay focused in life
Now the flow’s (easy)
Now we all do what we like
It’s all-new settings
Gotta work hard and grind
The days getting longer
Now we’re just waiting on time
[Chorus: Novelist]
I’ve got a lot on my mind
I’ve gotta make serious choices
So many people, so many faces
So many voices
Still on the ends, one day
We’re gonna see more employment
Gonna be so wealthy
I’ll share what’s mine for my own enjoyment
Don’t care for the road
Or fear for the boy dem
They used to hate all the songs we sang
But now they enjoy them
Called us noisome
Now I’ve got bread and I’m here rejoicing
Had to avoid them draw-outs
Man, I made serious choices
