This is the story of a mother and her little boy
He loved sweets very much, more than any toy
He always asked his mom for candy every chance he got
Sometimes she gave it to him but sometimes she did not
He didn’t really understand what it depended on
But whenever she said no, something felt wrong
It made him sad and angry, especially because
He sometimes noticed her putting bonbons right between her jaws
So one evening when he knew she was with friends
He searched the whole apartment til he had them in his hands
He unpacked them all and swallowed them straight down
They tasted weird and minutes later his world spinned around

This is the story of a little boy and his mother
She had her issues ever since she lost his little brother
Tried her best to make sure that it never showed
The pills sure helped her keep everything under control
First she just took a little bit, what’s the harm in trying
It took more and more to help stop her from crying
She loved her boy wanted to protect him at all cost
Aware she shouldn’t take the pills but unable to stop
Eventually she made the choice to reach out to her friend for help
Before she left she hid the pills somewhere on the shelf
She told her son she would be away for the night
Then went on to meet her friend to finally make things right

[Verse 3]
This is the story of the friend of the mom
Who spent the entire night in front of the ER
When she and her friend came home to get rid off the pills
And found the the son passed out the mother couldn't take the guilt
Felt she deserved to die because she had failed her son
She took what was left while the friend called 911
Waiting there for hours she had lots of time to think
And wonder why she hadn't noticed anything
She thought back to every moment they had spent together
Picking apart the warning signs, what she could have done better
At 4am the doctors finally had some news
One alive one dead they said leading her to the room
