Amazing Love for Me Lyrics by Kim Boyce

As I Am

0

I've heard the story
Since I was a child myself
How You watched from above
As the Son that You loved
Faced a shameful death
Ooh, and it's always stirred my heart
But lately like I've never known
'Cause now I've felt the joy
Of holding a son of my own
Oh, Father
How could You turn Him loose
When you knew what was to come
How could You watch what He went through
I would have screamed for Him to run
But You set aside Your deepest feelings
To meet my deepest need
How could You have such amazing love for me
I'd want to shelter my son
From this world of pain
And yet before time began
The cross was Your plan
And You were silent went it came
There was just one way
We could be reconciled
Forgiveness called for holy blood
You offered Your only child
Lord, tell me
How could You turn Him loose
When You knew what was to come
Ooh, how could You watch what He went through
I would have screamed for Him to run
But You set aside Your deepest feelings
To meet my deepest need
How could You have such amazing love for me
Your eyes can't look on evil
You turned away and the world went dark
Now the truth breaks through
At Calvary You loved me enough
To break Your own heart
How could You turn Him loose
When You knew what was to come, mmm...
How could You watch what He went through
I would have screamed for Him to run
But You set aside Your deepest feelings
To meet my deepest need
How could You have such amazing love for me
How could You have such amazing love for me
What amazing love
Amazing love for me
