Merrill Ave Lyrics by KvreeM

TheRecord

2014

I don't know
It's something about the word Merrill that makes me think of wind chimes
(Verse 1: KvreeM)
Chi-Town couple looking for a place to crash
Baby on the way and they gotta save up cash
Scrolling through the catalog to see what's up for grabs
Little green house at the end of Merrill Ave
So they grabbed the moving van and everything they grabbed
Momma's feeling kicks again I guess Shelly was glad
Gave the man the keys and told him everything was rad
Got into the truck, to the house on Merrill Ave
Pulled up to the semi colored drive way path
Unload the boxes, the plants, and all they had
Once they got set into place the water seemed to scad
The first black baby to be born on Merrill Ave
Now the Family has a big party
Shelly's now learning how to talk
Dad holding up the new camera
Micheal Jackson's bigger than the Hulk at the time
Now the family has a big party
Got friends up and down the block
Dad holding up the new camera
And Micheal Jackson hits the moon walk (Hehe)
Another baby in the picture for the mom and dad
A brother named Devin to the girl they just had
Sister was te jealous type but couldn't stay mad
Now she had a friend to play with on Merrill Ave
And the time past
They grow up so fast
The third baby makes the time last
And the time past
They grow up so fast
The third baby makes the time last
Now the family's satisfied they share a couple laughs
Momma losing baby weight while the kids in class
Little did they know the parents have a couple clashes
Things are looking shakey at the house on Merrill Ave
Voices getting louder being scared could make them gag
Going back and forth from grandmas and back to dad's
Different parents in the picture now the steps are added
But on the brighter side, they had the house on Merrill Ave
Grandma getting older don't know how long that she had
Mama came from the basement just to walk her to bed
Suddenly they heard a thump, Devin thought it was a dance
Calls are being made to the house on Merrill Ave
Momma's in control
Grandpa feeling sad
Don't know what to do
The family's gone mad
Dad is packing up, a surprise is what he had
Told the kids to say goodbye to the house on Merrill Ave
Things are getting worst
Life is moving too fast
Yesterday's a memory the future is ahead
Boxes being moved out, no covers on the bed
No more little green house near the end of Merrill Ave
Chi-Town couple looking for a place to crash
Babies everywhere, don't know where they got the cash
Tryna leave the hood so they found what's up for grabs
A little green house near the end of Merrill Ave
Loud and rowdy family had the music on blast
All the white families start to leave in cabs
Not giving a damn plus nobody cut the grass
Plus they painted black over green on the house on Merrill Ave
Now they shooting ish up on the block of Merrill Ave
Now they claiming land on the block of Merrill Ave
Ruined all my memories and what my mom and dad had
How could they let go to the house on Merrill Ave
How could they let go to the house on Merrill Ave
How could they let go to the house on Merrill Ave
