New Year Lyrics by LAYLA (UK)

The New Year EP

0

[Verse 1]
First day of new year
Nothing's changed
Still feeling broken
Still want the same
First day of new year
Brush off the past
Farewell ambition
You never last
Hi lovers lost behind us
Hi lessons we failed to learn
Hi those who tried to mold us
And change us for the worst
[Chorus]
You can't cover over holes
And you can't burrow deeper down
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
[Verse 2]
White brisk midwinter
Solstice gone
Promise of rebirth
Write fractured song
Can't flee from our bygones
No shaking off the truth
Just the first understanding
Of what we had to lose
[Chorus]
You can't cover over holes
And you can't burrow deeper down
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
Yeah you're gonna be somebody
