The Poet Lyrics by Lexsoul Dancemachine

Deus Lex Machina

2015

[Verse 1]
I am the anonymous poet, no one knows my name
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain
For we are not the same
I kinda like that Superman who has a secret disguise
Except I don't run around in my underwear
Or fly through and across the sky
[Chorus]
They call me the poet, that word is out to spare
Don't try to fake, girl, on my name, 'cause you will only fail... ow!
[Verse 2]
I write the words that save the day
You could say "a hero of sorts"
While relaxing in my trusty recliner
And old pair of blue jean shorts
I right'ed the right that once was wrong
While trying to make it rhyme
At least till my wife said to mow the lawn
But only in the summertime
[Chorus]
They call me the poet, that word is out to spare
Don't try to fake, girl, on my name, 'cause you will only fail
They call me the poet, that word is out to spare
Don't try to fake, girl, on my name, 'cause you will only fail
[Outro]
They call me the poet, that word is out to spare
Don't try to fake, girl, on my name, 'cause you will only fail
Oh, they call me the poet, that word is out to spare
Don't try to fake, girl, on my name, 'cause you will only fail, no
