Fake a Smile Lyrics by Light Speed Highway

0

[INTRO]
PLEASE WAKE ME UP FROM THIS NIGHTMARE
PLEASE CHECK MY PULSE THAT THERE'S STILL LIFE HERE
[VERSE 1]
I'M JUST THE POET OF THESE STUPID LITTLE LOVE SONGS
TRYING TO NUMB THE PAIN
EVERYTHING I AM AND EVERYTHING I WANT TO BE
ECHOES THROUGH THESE STRINGS
I'M JUST TRYING TO KEEP MY MIND OFF OF YOU
WHEN YOU WALKED THROUGH THAT DOOR WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO?
[Chorus]
NOTHING HURTS MORE THAN SEEING YOU AGAIN
AND THE WAY YOU'RE LAUGHING WITH YOUR FRIENDS
LIKE THERE'S NOTHING WRONG, LIKE I'M NOT DYING
TRY MY BEST TO PRETEND I'M OKAY
I WEAR A SMILE EVEN THOUGH IT'S FAKE
PLEASE DON'T LOOK AT ME 'CUZ I'M REALLY TRYING
[VERSE 2]
I FELT THE EYES THAT STARE TONIGHT
AND THE CHILL RUSH DOWN MY SPINE
I THOUGHT BY NOW I WOULD BE FINE
I'LL NEVER GET THIS RIGHT
I'LL HIDE AWAY IN MY DISGUISE
WHERE MY INSECURITIES LIE
[Chorus]
NOTHING HURTS MORE THAN SEEING YOU AGAIN
AND THE WAY YOU'RE LAUGHING WITH YOUR FRIENDS
LIKE THERE'S NOTHING WRONG, LIKE I'M NOT DYING
TRY MY BEST TO PRETEND I'M OKAY
I WEAR A SMILE EVEN THOUGH IT'S FAKE
PLEASE DON'T LOOK AT ME 'CUZ I'M REALLY TRYING
[Chorus]
NOTHING HURTS MORE THAN SEEING YOU AGAIN
AND THE WAY YOU'RE LAUGHING WITH YOUR FRIENDS
LIKE THERE'S NOTHING WRONG, LIKE I'M NOT DYING
TRY MY BEST TO PRETEND I'M OKAY
I WEAR A SMILE EVEN THOUGH IT'S FAKE
PLEASE DON'T LOOK AT ME 'CUZ I'M REALLY TRYING
[OUTRO]
PLEASE WAKE ME UP FROM THIS NIGHTMARE
(PLEASE WAKE ME UP, PLEASE WAKE ME UP)
PLEASE CHECK MY PULSE THAT THERE'S STILL LIFE HERE
(PLEASE WAKE ME UP, PLEASE WAKE ME UP)
