Cloud 9 Lyrics by Nobody Beats the Beats

Drops From Above

0

[Intro] [Big Pooh talking]
Yeah, Little Brother. All the way from North Carolina, straight to Copenhagen
Nobody Beats The Beats. You better get it right. Or don't get it at all
Check it out
[Verse One] [Big Pooh]
Me and a beat tape, pen and some paper
A fifth of anything brown, a whole lot of chaser
A little bit of free time, space and thought
Thank God of these blessings then ascension starts
Get yours is the motto for nigga's who down sorrows in glass bottles
Use they last buck to play the lotto
Thinkin' green like avocado
Get knocked by ?
I managed to move fans and at the same time move lives
So I guess I'm part of the movement
And hopefully being part of that can move units
Cause truthfully I don't need a lot
I'm just tryin' to buy a spot to have peace of mind
Get my part of pie, kick back recline
Stay away from lemon heads and cats that we deem sublime
Tryin' to stop me from reachin' what I call
[Hook] [Linn]
Up on my cloud
You can't reach me
Know that I got mine
Way above you is where you find me
Up on my cloud 9
Where I
[Verse Two] [Phonte]
I was in a hotel up in Copenhagen
Layin' back
Hopin', waitin' I could get my shine on overseas and flow amazin'
For the B-Boys, and girls, DJ's and local agents
Just standin' outside growin' impatient
Waitin' for them boys from Carolina, come and take the stage
Cause so many cats from the states ain't make the grade
With they bullshit records and mistakes they made
I could see how that could chase your faith away
So thanks to them
My team is gettin' questioned even though we stay grindin'
Like, "They CD ain't dope. I'm fightin' to find 'em
The LB team only got hype behind 'em."
Bullshit ho, that's Big Dho, right behind 'em
And when we rock a crowd we the best at it, dressed to get it
Y'all niggas is at your best, average, just admit it
Y'all know how we get down right?
My outline for cloud nine and this is what it sounds like
Yeah
[Hook] [Linn]
Up on my cloud
You can't reach me
I'm always movin' on
I'm way above you
If you can get there
I already won
Up on my cloud nine
[Verse Three] [Phonte]
Never sub par or substandard, always top of the line
And if you said something dope then it was probably mine
Cause y'all kick the whole truth only part of the time
Tay spit from 0 to 60 and stop on the top of a dime
[Big Pooh]
Pen and paragraphs, use my words as stabs
You don't wanna feel my aftermath
Who's on the next docket?
Them Ray Crocket MC's gettin' shook up
Cause Pooh Tyson never did give his hook up
[Phonte]
Look up and see that we live up to the hype
Your style is pussy, I wonder who was fuckin' tonight
Don't even worry bout another MC touchin' the mic
Cause you and me ain't really nothin' alike
I write rhymes and burn MC's weekly
Had some many people screamin', "Finish him"
Niggas thought he was from Helsinki
We do it like this any time you want to meet me
And on cloud nine is where you see me
[Hook]
Up on my cloud
You can't reach me
You know that I got mine, yeah
I'm way above you
And where you find me
Up on my cloud nine
Is where I'm gonna be
You gotta look up
There where I'm gonna be
Look up look up
Cloud nine
Cloud nine
