Loer Velocity - “Ball and Chain Dames”
[Emcee(s): Loer Velocity]
[Producer(s): Caness]
[Intro: Loer Velocity]
Ball-and-chain dames. X’s and O’s. X’s and O’s. It goes:
[Verse 1: Loer Velocity]
X’s and O’s. Look at all the pretty toes
All the birthday wishes and gifts with the pretty bows
A Sunday outing, shopping trips, new clothes
Yet all the time spent seems not ‘nough to behold
Takes two steps forward, one step back as it goes
The highs and lows is what it is, I suppose
But I ain’t with the aggravation, ma, so chill
I can’t spend every day, all day with you, you know?
I got to breathe, build, add on from day to day. And at
The same time, still maintain and find a way
You hate to see me go is what I usually hear you say
And I understand, girl, ‘cause I hate for you feel this way
But you always to play, and that’s not always cute
Not all times, but, sometimes, I wish it was mute
Beautiful, don’t take this to be the end of our thrill ‘cause all
I’m really trying to say is: let me breathe a little, chill
[Hook: Loer Velocity]
Ball-and-chain dames. My word, they’re all the same
Ball-and-chain dames (Who?), dames
Ball-and-chain dames, ball-and-chain dames, ball-and-chain
Dames, dames (Uh, uh)
Ball-and-chain dames. Got to love the aches and pains of these
Ball-and-chain dames (Who?), dames
Ball-and-chain dames, ball-and-chain dames, ball-and-chain
Dames, dames
[Verse 2: Loer Velocity]
OK. Uh, check it. Well, it was
Me and Shorty Love Love puffing stimuli. She was
On it ‘cause I’m Pisces and she’s a Gemini
More ill woman for nowadays than you find, but
She said she’d give me head, and I hope she’s genuine
And blows me from the heart like Gillespie. Then let’s meet
The pop, but then that’s how that shit got stopped
Loer this, Loer that. You ain’t shit. Don’t come back
And I’m just trying to walk my raps
Go around the block a couple times, kick some rhymes
Probably get what’s mine—probably mix with dimes
That just want to smoke and intertwine with my grind
And here we go again with the Heartbreak Hotel
Trying to be my friend, but she got to know my swacks
Now she all mad, caught feelings. She all jell
Shouting profanities in hopes for me in Hell, find me
Wiling in the lobby ‘cause she leans on my bell
[Hook: Loer Velocity]
Ball-and-chain dames. My word, they’re all the same
Ball-and-chain dames (Who?), dames
Ball-and-chain dames, ball-and-chain dames, ball-and-chain
Dames, dames, dames
Ball-and-chain dames. Got to love the aches and pains of these
Ball-and-chain dames, dames
Ball-and-chain dames, ball-and-chain dames, ball-and-chain
(Chain) dames (dames)
[Verse 3: Loer Velocity]
Ball-and-chain dames. I know you know some yourself
Take it to extremes once you tell them that they’re felt
And there’s always the kind that always want all of your time
Never allow a moment for you to breathe and recline
I even calmly tell shorty that I need to miss her
Somehow, she took that to mean I’m trying to diss her
That’s not a pretty picture. That’s not even a quencher
She’s still complaining after I made-up, hugged and kissed her
Ball-and-chain. I say it with much disdain
Regardless of what you think of me, that smother shit’s just late
I know some of you dudes who even dead feel the guiltiest
Handcuffing these broads as soon as you get their drawers
[Hook: Loer Velocity]
That’s that
Ball-and-chain, man. When it’s just the same as these
Ball-and-chain dames (Uh huh, uh huh)
Ball-and-chain dames, ball-and-chain dames, ball-and-chain
Dames, dames, dames
Ball-and-chain dames. I ain’t trying to play the games with these
Ball-and-chain dames, dames (Uh uh, not at all)
Ball-and-chain dames, ball-and-chain dames, ball-and-chain
(Chain) dames (dames)
[Outro: Loer Velocity]
Better smothered in love than no love. Believe that. Word. Uh huh
