Nice Guys & The Friend Zone Lyrics by Lotus Eater Evans

Just Listen

2014

Just listen to what I gotta say...It's 2014 yall...this is some shit that you guys got to realize...The "Friend Zone" is non-existent. Even if it was real, it's complete ridiculous bull-shit. So....
What is the "Friend Zone"?There are only three reasons someone would get put into the friend zone:
1. Lack of assertion.
2. Trying too hard.
3. He/She just doesn't like you!
As hard as it may seem, being nice to a person does not give them the obligation to requite your feelings. The fact that putting someone in the friend zone is responded with her "wasting your time" or "leading you on" only proves that you weren't only just being nice to her to get in her pants, but that you're bitter for the results. Since that's the case are you no better than the "jerks" that you claim that she's dating?
To quote Anthony Fantano from his review on Hopsin Knock Madness album:
The problem with the nice guy mentality is they always blame their inability to get into a relationship on everybody on the planet except themselves....What nice guys fail to realize is that maybe their not getting layed because they're insecure, bitter, whiny, and boring.Tbh, that could sum up this entire sentiment.
But what if I don't want just sex, and I want a real relationship?
If that's the case then where is getting upset that you're in the friend zone getting you? You honestly might be craving the company of someone, which is why you want a relationship. Even then, my first question still stands. Why is it that the friend ship of the person that you wanted has to end because they don't share the same feelings that you do?
Women don't understand what that does to us!
What? Being rejected is part of everyday life. I've yet to meet a person who has not been rejected by someone. If anything, it probably feels worse for the women who get said no too because of the immature double standard of a guy "saying no to pussy".
So why do women go for jerks?
Women don’t go for jerks. Women go for confident guys. The guys who are getting the girls are the ones asking them out. It’s just common sense, people! Some of them may be jerks, but many of them are actual nice guys (no quotations). The key is that they are upfront with their intentions.
The one thing is about the people that complain about the friendzone is, that instead of blaming this persons taste in women/men. Have you ever thought for maybe a second that you've got bad taste in women/men?
All the while you're infatuated with this girl/guy that doesn't share your exact feelings, just maybe there is a person who actually likes you, but is too shy to even say a word to you. Who knows?
Just know this...Don't blame your relationship failures on the friend zone or whoever put you in there. There are lots of other fish in the sea. Make sure you haven't thrown one back with better taste because it wasn't the one you've chased this whole time.
Now I'm going to end this with a quote from Catherine Tran...aka DJ Cateye from her remarkable tumblr post that's made to the 2nd option of Google search results:
Guys who do this and claim to be “nice guys” are the worst misogynists because of their sense of entitlement toward a woman. They make investments in property and expect their dividends. They are fake friends. They are selfish. And they will jump at the chance to vilify you and victimize themselves when their attempts at manipulation don’t work.
Clearly, “friendzone” is the remnant of a phenomenon that has plagued women since the beginning of time: women are not independent creatures. Our love lives exist only in the context of a man’s desire. When we make independent decisions, we are subject to a host of derogatory terms. '
“Slut” is how we vilify a woman for exercising her right to say “yes”. “Friend Zone” is how we vilify a woman for exercising her right to say “no”. Leave questions down below for me to answer!
