December Lyrics by Lovelast

Midwinter EP

2013

[Verse 1]
The times I remember are far more than embers of
Long lost nights in silent December when
We'd sit there in our childish liturgy
When the hand I was holding was the hand
That was scolding me and I let go
In the moment you were trembling
To see if you would get up off the floor
[Chorus]
And I'm in love with the you I knew before
[Verse 2]
And in my mind you inscribed every contour of
Thick disguise that encased your sorrows as
You whispered, "Forever I am yours"
Then drive I did when your words to welcoming
And I gave up as the sun was beckoning
The sky to scream in colors me you had torn
[Chorus]
I'm in love with the you I knew before
And I don't know if I'll love you anymore
[Bridge]
Soft and sweetly, too discreetly
Hide me from your loves anew
Come December, I'll remember
Everything they never knew
[Chorus]
I'm in love with the you I knew before
And I don't if I'll love you anymore
Cause I'm in love with the you I knew before
And I don't know if I'll love you anymore, oh no
[Post-Chorus]
(I'm in love with the you I knew before)
Waste, don't waste my time
Tear your heart from mine
(And I don't if I'll love you anymore)
Save your energy for
The next love you'll run away from
(I'm in love with the you I knew before)
Waste, don't waste my time
Tear your heart from mine
(And I don't if I'll love you anymore)
Save your energy for
The next love you'll run away from
