Don’t Turn Your Back on Me Lyrics by Luca Chiappara

Where I Belong

2022

I remember the first time I saw you
It was a hot august night
You were wearing that Japanese dress I like
And it all felt alright
I remember you danced like a swallow feather
Swirling in the summer breeze
Every moment you were around, honey
Was the moment I was losing myself
And here we are
In a hotel room
And you’re laying down here
Don’t turn your back on me
People wеre partying around us
I felt jealous of thеir happiness
I just wanted to hold your hand in mine
But our secret couldn’t be seen
I remember your words of wisdom
While telling me that we were through
You said, there’s no use in ending a story
If the story never began
And here we are
Walking side by side
The breeze is whistling
Don’t turn your back on me
I swore I didn’t want to see you again
That this love was too much for me
I don’t remember your name, but I remember the shame
Of the sound of that fare thee well
Well, we haven’t talked ever since
But I swear I saw you a lot of times
I saw you once in the crowd in Paris
I saw you once on the beach in Spain
And here we are
I got a picture of you
It’s been a long time
Since you turned your back on me
Goodbye my lover
Goodnight to you
Goodbye my sweetheart
I hope this song will reach out to you
